Our former braves did great, but still we don’t live the life they wanted us to be in.

Here is Somalia, a country which located in the horn of Africa which experienced many years of political turmoil, corruption, and instability, these below photos are statues of some respected persons who were responsible the freedom of our country, the pictures or arts of the individuals of these statues were erased because of long time and lack of repairing, only the buildings remained.

The statue written SYL represents Somali youth league: a league which consist of thirteen young men and women including poets, intellectuals and other elites, they show how they were against the colonization by words and written poems, they negotiated with the colonial leaders by telling them that it’s indispensable to let Somalia to be independent country, simply if you ask one Somali guy, who led Somalis to their independent? he/she simply says Somali youth league{ SYL}

The blue statue is for great brave woman called Hawa taka, she was killed by colonial armies while she was fighting with them.

The third white statue is for Sayid Mohamed Abdulle Hassan, he has been fighting with British colony more than twenty years, he was mullah, and poet, after many times he defeated the enemy, finally he was defeated his turn, and he evacuated to a place far away from the British army centers, and then he gets positive of malaria that leads his death, what a sad!

Because of the struggle of these people, we got our independence, 1 July 1960, but the country had re-destroyed in 1991, when regime Mohamed Siyad was overthrown by armed groups, from 1991 till today we are in an insecurity.

near of these statues the private owned cars can’t pass, it was some risk to take pictures from them and that will be the real cause of less perfectness of the photos because a picture you took while you are looking your sides can’t be a fit, and the reason is that, these statues are near to presidential palace and the security forces are so in attention because of fear from opposition attacks.

Our former braves did great, but still we don’t live the life they wanted us to be in.
